DV8 Shoe Cutting Party

DV8 Student Ministry is asking for our help to make their Shoe Cutting Christmas Party to benefit the children of Eastern Africa a great success. We have decided to consolidate our groups and have one party on December 18 at 6:30 PM in the Student Center to maximize our efforts. Please find below a list of items needed and we would love to welcome anyone who would like to join us!

Blue Jeans – we want your old blue jeans! We will be cutting out shoe templates and mailing the pieces to Africa for assembly.
$10 bills (or checks made payable to “Sole Hope”) – LOTS of them! – this pays for shipping of the templates and supplies and pays the wages of the Ugandans that will be sewing the shoes together.
Empty (clean) plastic milk jugs or 2 liter bottles or laundry detergent bottles – these are for the heel supports in the shoes.
Fabric Scissors – if you want them back, please put your name on them.
Large Safety Pins – we want as many as possible (we will ship the extras to Sole Hope).
