Acts – Contagious Service
The Big Idea: God uses servants to spread His Gospel.
- The Challenge
- The Conclusion
- The Charge
This week in prayer:
- Pray for the elders to discern all that God has for Aspen Ridge Church.
- Pray for the deacons and all who serve Aspen Ridge Church and our neighbors.
- Pray for God’s leading as you serve in response to what Jesus has done for you.
Quick Review: Looking back at your notes from this week’s teaching, was there anything that particularly caught your attention, challenged or confused you?
- Share with your small group a time when you made, or were involved in, a cultural faux pas. Were you able to recover the situation?
- The Jerusalem church faced a collision of different cultures. What are the cultural challenges that Aspen Ridge Church is facing?
- The Apostles needed to get the solution “right” regarding the Hebrew and Hellenist widows. What are some of the important things that Aspen Ridge needs to get “right?”
- Paul shares the qualifications for Deacons in 1 Timothy 3:8-13. Discuss how these are not “super spiritual qualities” but evidences of a maturing faith.
We welcome Norm Lewis to our services this weekend. Norm is the chairman of the elder board and a member of our preaching team. We want to extend a special welcome to visitors and guests, and we invite you to an informal reception immediately following our worship service. Norm will meet you at the Welcome Center, where you can also receive a special gift when you turn in a Communication Card.
PASTOR JEFF ON VACATION THIS WEEK
Pastor Jeff will be out of the office this week, on a golf vacation with long standing friends and family. He will not be available for pastoral support, however, Pastor Kreg will be fielding needs in his absence. Pastor Jeff will be back next weekend to continue our Acts series.

The Elders are asking members of Aspen Ridge Church to prayerfully consider nominating qualified men as elder candidates. Nomination forms are available in the church office and must be returned to the church office by the end of June.
SUMMER AFFINITY GROUPS
Summer is here! What better way to enjoy the summer sun than to join a summer affinity small group? We’ve got groups focused on fishing, Jeeping, volleyball, hiking and golfing. Eric has posted a blog article with more info on our website and he will be in the lobby this weekend to answer any questions.
VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL
Vacation Bible School was outstanding! Thank you, Debbie and Meredith, for your amazing leadership. To each teacher and volunteer – we could not have done this without you! We had over 200 kids registered, and we had 29 children make faith commitments – we are praising the Lord! Saturday night (6/9), we’re celebrating VICTORY with an outdoor service and a BBQ afterwards, in recognition of our many amazing volunteers. Join us!
SUMMER FUN AT DV8 BACK PORCH
Back Porch kicked off this past week, with a combined middle and high school student event that happens every Thursday this summer. Meet at the church at 6:00 PM for a van ride to the evening’s location, returning at 9:00 PM.

During the weeks that separate Mother’s Day from Father’s Day (May 13 - June 17), Life’s Options Pregnancy Center makes baby bottles available for your donations. Just fill the bottles with pocket change and return the filled bottles to church on Father’s Day weekend. Your small change makes a BIG difference!

Faith Day at the Rockies is Sunday, July 29 at 1:10 PM vs. the Oakland Athletics, with Rockies players speaking after the game. The post-game concert features Passion. Please put this on your calendar and watch for more details to come.
GET OUT: CHURCHWIDE SERVICE PROJECT
We’re getting our hands dirty in our community at Evergreen Lake, downtown Evergreen and Marshdale on August 4. We’ll spend a half-day serving through projects to clean up our beautiful public areas. We are praying for those that serve and those that will be served. We’d love to see our church body dedicate some time to this project.
