The Height of Faith - Perfection
Dr. Jeffrey Clark
The Big Idea: By one offering, Christ has perfected those who are set apart for God.
Question: In what way has Christ perfected His people?
- Christ has perfected His people in a way better than the Old Covenant.
- Christ has perfected His people in a way fulfilling the New Covenant.
Quick Review: Looking back at your notes from this week’s teaching, was there anything that particularly caught your attention, challenged or confused you?
- Please read Hebrews 10:11-18. How did you feel about this week’s passage?
- What did you learn about this passage from the message?
- What is God stirring up in you to apply to your daily living from this message?
If you are visiting, we want to extend a special welcome to you, and we invite you to an informal reception immediately following our worship service. Pastor Jeff will meet you at the Welcome Center, where you can also receive a special gift when you turn in a Communication Card.
ASPEN RIDGE CONSTRUCTION
Thank you for your patience as our church building is undergoing extensive upgrades and renovations. If you are interested in reading more, check out our website or Facebook page. Please note that our playground is not safely accessible during portions of this remodel, and kids and parents are asked to observe signage in that area for your safety.
SATURDAYS ARE BACK!
Beginning on September 9, we’re bringing Saturday evening services back, with a new 5:00 PM start time. We hope this helps young families with dinner and bedtime situations.
VIEW FROM THE RIDGE: ANNUAL BUSINESS MEETING
Our meeting this year will be held on Sunday, September 17, immediately following our 10:45 AM service. This year, there will be a baked potato bar, and coordinators are asking attendees to bring a favorite potato topping and a dessert. The meeting will follow lunch. Please join us as we look back to see what God has done and look forward to our new ministry year.
The Elders are proposing the new budget for the coming 2017/18 ministry year. Copies of this budget are available in the church office so that members may be prepared to vote on September 17. If you have any questions, please contact an Elder.
LIVE IT OUT
Thanks to all who are contributing to Live It Out as we intentionally reach out to our community in practical and loving ways. To contribute, note “Live It Out” on or with your gift. Gifts (pledged and unpledged) received to date: $ 99,742
Remaining pledged amount: $ 36,394
SMALL GROUP SIGN-UPS
The beginning of our fall small group session is the week of September 17. There will be a table in the lobby in upcoming weeks, or you may check out listings online.
The Bridge provides an orientation to church life and how you may fit into ministry within our body. Those who are new to Aspen Ridge, who want to know more about us, who want to discover a small group and who want to find a way to serve are invited. Dinner will be provided, and the session is scheduled on September 24 from 4:00 - 7:30 PM in the Fellowship Hall. Contact the office to reserve your spot.
MOVIE NIGHT AT ASPEN RIDGE
Alongside the restart of our Saturday Night Service on September 9, we will host a free movie night at 6:30 PM. Our feature film will be The Case for Christ, a true story based on the worldwide best-selling book. Childcare will be provided (kids will be viewing a separate movie in the Student Center), and a light meal will be available for purchase, with proceeds supporting our DV8 Student Ministries. Invite a neighbor!
Online registration for AWANA is open on the church website. Our first official AWANA night is Wednesday, September 6 at 6:30 PM. This is the time to pay dues, get supplies and learn about the upcoming year, but we do ask that you register online to help the first night run smoothly.
