(UN)CONFINED – Good News
Romans 4:1, 19-25
Dr. Jeffrey Clark
Question: How does Abraham demonstrate Christianity as good news?
- Abraham represents all
- Abraham receives the news
- Abraham – counted as righteous
If you are visiting, we want to extend a special welcome to you, and we invite you to an informal reception immediately following our worship service. On Saturday, Pastor Jeff will be available in the Celebration Center, and on Sunday, he and his wife, Mary, will meet you at the Welcome Center.
Not everyone believes that Easter, or Christianity for that matter, is good news. There are some that would call it a straitjacket, confining and oppressive. This Easter, we will seek to answer some of these questions and delve into this way of thinking. If you’d like to know more, check out Pastor Jeff’s blog post on our website!
LIVE IT OUT!
By God’s grace, we are pursuing a bold vision that can only become reality as we live it out. And beginning April 2/3, we’re excited for you to join us for a four-part sermon series and vision initiative to consider how you are:
Called to serve.
Connected in relationships.
Compelled by the gospel.
Committed to outreach.
WATCH YOUR MAILBOX
Throughout the month of April, we will be sending weekly emails and postcards as reminders of what we are learning together. You can even use some of these reminders for family discussions and life lessons.
A SERVICE OPPORTUNITY
We are organizing a schedule for the Sunday Greeters, covering the summer months, and are in need of some smiling faces! This is one way to meet neighbors and help them connect within the church. Please contact the church office to assist in this vital role.
CARRAY CELEBRATION OF LIFE SERVICE
Please pray for the Carray family in the passing of Larry on Wednesday, March 9. There will be a Celebration of Life service at Aspen Ridge Church on Monday, April 4 at 11:00 AM, with a dinner following in the Fellowship Hall. Salads, sides and desserts are being requested to assist in the meal preparation. Please contact Kathy Taraba by email at firstname.lastname@example.org or call/text at 720.635.9995 with any items you can help provide.
SPRING SMALL GROUPS STARTING UP
The beginning of our spring series marks new small group sessions. If you are new to Aspen Ridge or want to know more about us, we would like to recommend The Bridge. This is a small group geared toward introducing you to ministries and opportunities to connect and thrive within the body. If you’ve been around awhile but haven’t yet connected through a small group, stop by the table in the lobby to see what might be a good fit for your family.
WEDNESDAY NIGHT MENU
Please join us for dinner on Wednesday evening at 5:30 PM. We will be serving Texas Frito pie, salad and dessert for $2.50 per person or $10 per family.
JOB OPENING WITHIN MOPS MINISTRY
Aspen Ridge Mothers of Preschoolers (MOPS) is now accepting applications for a paid Moppets Coordinator for the 2016-17 year. If you are interested, please contact Kristin Farnsworth at email@example.com or 913.709.3624 for further information.
SAVE THE DATE FOR VBS!
Summer is only a few months away! Be in prayer about how you may want to get involved in Vacation Bible School this year, and please make sure that June 20-24 is marked on your calendar! We’re taking it back to God’s Word with “Retro Rock!”
