Human – Sin
2 Samuel 11 & 12
The Big Idea: God wants us dependent upon Him in both adversity and prosperity.
- David’s Adversity
- David’s Prosperity
- David’s Sin
Quick Review: Looking back at your notes from this week’s teaching, was there anything that particularly caught your attention, challenged or confused you?
- Think of the times you faced adversity in your life. How did this cause you to be dependent on God? (1 Corinthians 10:13)
- Why are we so quick to release our need for God during times of prosperity? (James 4:6)
- David’s sin did not stop with Bathsheba, but exploded into others’ lives. Talk about how one sin can start you down a slippery slope. (James 1:14-15) What can we do to prevent this? (James 4:7-8)
- Read Psalm 32:3-4. Think about a time when you could not escape your disobedience to God. What did you think and feel? What did it take for you to acknowledge your disobedience to God?
We welcome one of our own, Norm Lewis, as our speaker this weekend.
