DISCUSSION QUESTIONS

Quick Review: Looking back at your notes from this week’s teaching, was there anything that particularly caught your attention, challenged or confused you?

Perceptions: How did you feel about this topic… before this message was even heard? How did the message reinforce, challenge or adjust your feelings on this topic? What point did you feel most strongly about?

Learning: What did you learn about this topic that perhaps you didn’t know before? What portion(s) of this message brought valuable review or insightful perspective? How did this topic develop a Christian “way of thinking” that challenges your view of the world?

Life Change: Where do you need to apply the big idea behind this message? How could this application show up in your life? What difference will this message make going forward? Where do you need help and support in making personal life changes?

NEWCOMERS RECEPTION

We would like to welcome the Mountain Area Pregnancy Center and the Gideons to our Outreach Emphasis Weekend. We will hear from them both during our services. If you are visiting, we want to extend a special welcome to you and invite you to an informal reception immediately following our worship service. On Saturday, Pastor Jeff will be available outside, and on Sunday, he and his wife, Mary, will meet you at the Welcome Center.

BAPTISM UPCOMING

We continue to see significant interest in following Christ into the waters of baptism. Our next baptism service will be during the weekend of July 11-12. If you are interested, the first step is to secure an interview with one of our pastors or church leaders. We will finalize our list of participants on July 5.

CONTINUING CONVERSATIONS

Bulletin announcements can only say so much. We'd love to continue conversations with you online, through our Facebook page and our website. Comment on Pastor Jeff's latest blog entry, check out pictures from DV8 Student Ministry’s trip to CIY and let us know how we can be in prayer for you. We believe church is more than just a weekly gathering!

PRAYER FOR THE MUSLIM WORLD

We would like to welcome our ministry partners from North Africa. You are invited to join them next Sunday morning, July 12, in the Fellowship Hall at 9:00 AM. This will replace our normal meeting of The Gathering, and it will allow you to hear more about the things God is doing and how you can pray.

MAIN OFFICE SUMMER HOURS

Our main office has moved to summer hours, continuing through mid-August. The summer hours will be 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM daily. If you call or email the office after 2:00 PM, please note that your request will be handled the next business day.

DV8

Middle school and high school students, please join us for Back Porch at Pastor Jeff’s home on Thursday, July 9 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. We will hear from missionaries who will share with us about their lives. Vans will leave the church promptly at 6:00 PM!

THE GATHERING

The balance of July in The Gathering will see Dr. Jeffrey Clark taking us through an enlightening look at the Kingdom of God through the teachings of Jesus. Historically, Christians have viewed the Kingdom of God in many varied and diverse ways – but the real question is, “How and what did Jesus teach us on this very important topic?” Please join us in the Fellowship Hall at 9:00 AM on Sunday mornings.

FAITH DAY AT THE ROCKIES

Please plan to join us on Sunday, July 26 at 2:10 PM as we celebrate Faith Day at the Rockies. The post game concert features Michael W. Smith and is included in the ticket price. Payment may be submitted to the office to reserve your seats, or you can contact Marilyn Betsch directly through Churchteams.

MOPS RUMMAGE SALE

Aspen Ridge Mothers of Preschoolers are hosting their annual rummage sale on August 8, from 8:00 AM – 2:00 PM. If you have items you would like to donate, please contact them to arrange a drop-off time in the church annex. They will also be collecting items in the student center during the week prior to the sale. Support our MOPS ladies and the amazing outreach that they provide to families in our community!
