DISCUSSION QUESTIONS

Quick Review: Looking back at your notes from this week’s teaching, was there anything that particularly caught your attention, challenged or confused you?

Discussion Questions:

  1. Please read John 15:4, 12-13 and 26-27. How did you feel about this week’s passage?
  2. What did you learn about this passage from the message?
  3. What is God stirring up in you to apply to your daily living from this message?

NEWCOMERS RECEPTION

If you are visiting today, we want to extend a special welcome to you and invite you to an informal reception immediately following our worship service. On Saturday, Pastor Jeff will be available in the Celebration Center, and on Sunday, Pastor Jeff and his wife Mary will meet you at the Welcome Center in the entryway.

NEW ATTITUDE

On April 5, we will begin a new six-week series that encourages us to use our God-given talents and abilities to serve others and to glorify the Gift-Giver. Begin prayerfully considering where you may volunteer within the church, and don’t forget to pick up your family folder as we embark on this journey. Contact the church office, or check out the website for more information.

THE BRIDGE

The Bridge will begin a new session on April 6 at 9:00 AM. If you are interested in learning more about Aspen Ridge and about how your special giftings can encourage and minister to others within the body, join us downstairs in the Fireside Room for this small group.

SMALL GROUP SIGNUPS

There will be a table in the entryway on April 5-6 to learn more information about and to sign up for a small group. If you have not yet committed to one of these groups, prayerfully consider getting involved. The benefits of gathering in small groups are tremendous, and we have truly seen God’s hand at work through this vital ministry.

ATTEND A TOWN HALL MEETING

In an effort to better serve our body, a second Town Hall date has been added. Along with the previously scheduled meeting on Sunday morning, we have added a Saturday evening meeting. Please plan to attend one of these dates to hear a report from our Outreach Ministry and to discuss our “New Attitude” for the Spring.
      Saturday, April 5 Chapel – 5:30 PM
Sunday, April 6 Fellowship Hall – 9:00 AM

ELDER NOMINATIONS

Elder nominations for terms starting in September 2014 will be accepted during the month of March. Nomination forms are available in the church office or from any elder. Prayerfully consider nominating men who meet the biblical and constitutional office of Elder, and return the nomination form to the church office by March 30.

MARCH MINISTRY HIGHLIGHT: DV8 STUDENT MINISTRY

Our teens combat a harsher culture than any other generation before them. The world is constantly telling them who they are and who they should be. Prayer for the teens at Aspen Ridge, and our community, is imperative. Please pray that they would seek the Lord and find their identity in Him; that they would have His truth written on their hearts and find the strength to deviate from this world.

STUDENT MINISTRIES

On March 30, our High School Ministry will leave the church at 5:45 PM to attend the Gungor concert at Ogden Theater. Families are responsible for buying their own tickets at ogdentheater.com. Come join us!

EASTER WEEKEND
Whether you’re feeling “hollow” or excited to celebrate the “hollow” tomb, join us Easter weekend for an exciting series of events:
April 18 Good Friday service – 6:30 PM
     April 19 Saturday service – 6:00 PM
     April 20 Easter Breakfast – 8:00 AM
                   Sunday services – 9:00 & 10:30 AM
(Small groups may fold into 9:00 AM service.)

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL – SAVE THE DATE

June 9-13, 2014, kids will experience and be empowered by all of the unexpected and yes, weird ways that Jesus demonstrated unconditional love. From healing lepers to washing the feet of his disciples, the Bible is filled with accounts of Jesus’ one-of-a-kind love! Please begin to pray with us for this exciting event and mark your calendars to volunteer.

Praise

  • for new believers in their student ministry.

Pray

  • for a peaceful resolution to the conflicts in Russia, and for wisdom, courage, grace and restraint in abundant measure.
  • for protection and unity among the body of believers, as these issues can be incredibly divisive.
