A Weekend Marriage Emphasis
Bill and Pam Farrel
This section is available for notes.
Quick Review: Looking back at your notes from this week’s teaching, was there anything that particularly caught your attention, challenged or confused you?
My Story: This message had to do with marriages. The institution of marriage is under siege in our culture today. Whether or not you are married, you may have opinions on why this is the case. What is your comment on this vital and important matter?
- The Apostle Paul makes the institution of marriage analogous to the relationship of Christ to the church. In what ways does marriage correspond to our Savior and his bride, the church? How does this inform your relationship with Christ and/or any marriage relationship?
- If you attended the marriage conference, and if you attended one of the elective sessions, could you share some of the leading concepts? How can this information be useful to you or others?
Taking It Home: The message this weekend has to do with making marriages stronger. How can you use the points learned to make marriages stronger and healthier? Where can you pray for, and encourage, marriages to thrive? If you are married, how can you invest in your marriage?
We welcome Bill and Pam Farrel to our services this weekend. They are international speakers and the authors of more than 35 books, including the best-selling Men Are Like Waffles, Women Are Like Spaghetti. If you are visiting, we want to extend a special welcome to you and invite you to an informal reception immediately following our worship service. On Saturday, Pastor Jeff will be available in the Celebration Center, and on Sunday, he and his wife, Mary, will meet you at the Welcome Center in the entryway.
We cherish the monthly breaking of bread together at the Lord's Table, which we often call "communion." It has been our habit to set aside the first weekend of the month as our time to commemorate the sacrifice and love that this time represents. However, in light of our weekend marriage emphasis, we will celebrate the Lord's Table on the second weekend (October 11-12) in order to give proper attention and devotion to this ordinance. Thank you for your understanding.
NOTE FROM PASTOR KERRY – WORSHIP ARTS
Our new speakers were installed this week! Thank you for your patience as we test and configure this new equipment –striving to make this a place where our neighbors can find a home in Christ. If you have any questions, feel free to contact Pastor Kerry.

ASPEN HOLLOW: TRUNK OR TREAT
On October 31, we will fill the lot with vehicles to provide a safe place for kids to “trunk or treat” in our community. Would you or your small group partner with us to decorate a trunk and hand out candy? Please contact Maryjean Fowler to get involved. We are also collecting boxes for our students to build a cardboard maze for this event – big sizes appreciated. Drop them off in the Student Center.
