HEALING FOR THE SPIRITUALLY BURNED:
ENEMIES IN UNEXPECTED PLACES, JOHN 10:1-6
The Big Idea: Spiritual burns happen, but Jesus is there to heal!
Thieves and robbers burn (v 1)
The people of God invite attack!
Just because someone claims to be a spiritual leader does not necessarily mean they
This person does not respect boundaries.
Just because you are ealing with people who are affiliated with the church does not
necessarily mean you will avoid burns.
The One entering by the door heals (v 2)
He comes to the sheep pen and calls out his own sheep individually.
He does not fail in bringing out all his own.
He goes before them, leading them with his voice.
- What are some of the perils God’s people face today?
- How have you seen thieves and robbers enter the sheepfold by another way? What were the results?
- Recall a time when you’ve heard the Shepherd’s voice and followed it.
- Recall a time when you fled the stranger’s voice. How did you know the difference?
- Read the prophecy against the shepherds of Israel in Ezekiel 34. What were they guilty of? Who promises to search the lost sheep out? How does He accomplish this in the foothills of Jefferson County today?
THE GATHERING: MARRIAGE SERIES
The Gathering is a highly interactive small group that meets every Sunday, is always “open” and welcomes guests and visitors. Each month a different topic is discussed. In April the focus is marriage. What works well in marriage and what does not? Different couples from Aspen Ridge will discuss what they have found strengthens their marriage as well as pitfalls to avoid. Come join us at 9:00 AM downstairs in room 104.
SPRING SERIES: HEALING FOR THE SPIRITUALLY BURNED
Our new teaching series is in full-swing. Last week,”Firefighter Franklin” shared how Jesus wants to heal the spiritually burned and wants to use us to bring healing to the world. Don’t miss out on the rest of this important series.

Pastor Jeff will lead an “exploring membership” gathering this Sunday April 14 at 3:00 PM at Aspen Ridge. This is a great opportunity to get to know more about our church and others who are interested in folding into the life of our church. Whether or not you are ready to take the step of membership, this would be a valuable gathering to attend.
Are you a graduating senior? Do you know a graduating senior? If so, please send those names to the church office.
Mothers of Preschoolers is winding down for the year, but it’s not too late to enjoy some much needed fellowship with other moms. On April 23, join them for “Jazz and Java.” May 14 will be a “Farewell Luau” to end the regular meetings. As summer approaches, however, don’t despair. MOPS moms and kids will continue to have park days every Tuesday at 10:00 AM. June gatherings will be at Marshdale Park and July will be at Kittredge Park.
APRIL MINISTRY HIGHLIGHT: CHILDREN’S MINISTRY
Vacation Bible School is June 17-21 from 8:45 AM - 12:00 PM. The theme is Go Fish's, "Gotta Move," designed to give children an understanding of what it means to be a Christian and to walk with God. Through each lesson children will see that God provides everything we need to be close to Him. He does require a response, however. Having faith means that we Gotta Move! The fun is not just for kids, though. We need special people to volunteer for this exciting week of ministering to children. Join the adventure and sign up at the VBS table in the lobby!
