The early Christian Church had a notable beginning…after Peter’s message, many received the gospel message and were baptized. In fact, the early church added to its fellowship about 3,000 souls. After the early church formed a network of small groups, Christian faith remained “contagious,” and the Lord added to their number day by day those who were being saved (Acts 2:47). God uses means to accomplish his purposes, and those means include being a persistent and faithful witness to a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. This is the commission Jesus gives to his followers, “you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth (Acts 1:8).”
How consistently do you give witness to your faith in Jesus? How confident and bold are you in sharing your faith? When was the last time you told your faith story? How regular are you in bringing your friends and neighbors who are outside the Christian faith to the Lord in prayer? What have been some of your experiences in publicly identifying as a Christ-follower and planting Christian seeds with others? What tool would you use to present the gospel to someone who was interested?
Aspen Ridge is pleased to present a small group initiative entitled “Be Contagious.” This is a six-week small group curriculum, authored by Lee Strobel and Mark Mittelberg. Our existing adult small groups, and a few new groups, will be available to fold you in to such an important initiative. These will begin the weekend of April 7 and conclude before Memorial Day weekend. If you are new to Aspen Ridge…or long-standing, let me encourage you to join a “Be Contagious” small group. Let’s learn how to share our faith in bold and confident ways.
