Our Choice in Friendships

I was studying the concept of friendship and I came across the following quote:  "What you become will be directly linked to three factors: 1) the decisions you make, 2) the material you read, 3) the friends you choose."

I am especially interested by the third factor.  We have a choice in our friendships, and these friendships have much to say about the type of person we become.  What are you looking for in a friend?  How do you decide which friendship to pursue?  When do you reduce the time investment you are making in a given friendship and when do you increase that time investment?  Who are your best friends and how can you encourage them today.

It also seems important for every one of us to fold into a small group to develop relationships that can encourage us in the Christian way.  Have you folded into a small group?
